Extra Curricular

At The valley Preschool we offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities, we ensure all children are provided with the opportunity to enjoy these sessions, running them twice a week and rotating the days, ensuring we offer an all-inclusive curriculum.

Boogie Groovers:

Each session consists of various exercises to different pieces of familiar music (some using apparatus) which are designed to develop each child's balance, co-ordination, rhythm and strength. I believe that having a structured, but fun class plan allows the children to become familiar with new exercises and repeating these on a weekly basis encourages them to develop mentally as well as physically aiding their progression!

Outdoor Cosmic Yoga:

Outdoor Cosmic Yoga is taught in combination with mindfulness. Yoga for children is now more popular than ever, adults all over the world have been experiencing the benefits of mind and body balance that yoga brings. It has been found to stimulate children’s development, working wonders for a child’s self-esteem, whilst improving the child’s balance and flexibility.

Norweign Woodland Sessions:

The children continuously embrace the outdoor classroom with frequent expenditures along the Meon Valley Trail and local woodlands allowing the children to engage with their natural surroundings and the extended community. We are such a privileged setting to have such outstanding beauty on our doorstep.

Cookery:

Cookery is not only a fun, engaging activity for children, but one that has been used for years as an important teaching and development tool for all ages. Cooking inspires children’s curiosity, thinking, and problem solving. Additionally cooking offers authentic opportunities for children to understand and apply their knowledge of measuring, one to one correspondence, numbers, counting, and sequencing as they organise ingredients and follow recipes.

We work with Fare Share and Tesco, to combat food wastage, whilst reducing preschools costs when supplying snack and purchasing cooking ingredients. We hope this small gesture will help educate our children further and go towards the greater cause of reducing food wastage.

At The Valley Preschool we are surrounded by areas of natural beauty. We have several offsite visits using The Meon Valley Trail, Local woodlands, Local Farms, and an Annual Theatre trip. Photographed below are some of our beautiful learning areas.
